Meet Paul Barton.

E-mail: pgb@studio415.com. Paul is a full time musician, audio engineer, and producer. He found music and the arts all around him as he grew up just across the river from New York City. As a young sound tech in the 70’s, Paul audio mixed live New York area shows including national and Broadway acts. In the 80’s, he played guitar and sang in rock bands, frequently opened for national acts, held down a full time corporate day job, and sometimes found time for sleep. Paul worked as a radio and mobile DJ in the early 90’s, opened an entertainment firm and managed a recording studio. By the new millennium, Paul had established himself as an international business consultant, lived in Europe, and made a new home with his family in North Carolina. He now runs Studio 415.

Meet Dan Blaisdell.

E-mail: marathon@marathonmusic.net. Dan is a prolific songwriter and musician with more than 300 original songs to his credit. He writes in many genres including rock, country, folk, blues, jazz, plus his own unique style. For many years he’s been known as the “Marathon Man” for playing entire gigs without any breaks. He and his brother Michael formed “The Bad Habit Axe Company“ back in the day and continue to play traditional and original music today. He has released three major CD’s of all original songs. A drummer at heart, many artists have influenced his songwriting including the Beatles, Hank Williams, John Prine, Billy Joel, Judas Priest, Shania Twain, J.S. Bach, Mike Cross, and Ravi Shankar. He joined CCSA in March 2006, and finds the organization very helpful in improving his songwriting craft. Please visit Marathon Music and The Bad Habit Axe Company.

E-mail: dawsonotes@earthlink.net. Gerry has been writing songs for over 30 years, along with poetry and visual art. He admires punchy raw hooks in the vein of the Ramones and lengthy literary attempts similar to those of Dylan/Cohen. He likes the challenge of stretching the limits while also working within them.

Meet Frank Luck.

E-mail: jell-o@prodigy.net. Frank Luck, singer, songwriter, poet, musician, and all around unknown, returned home to North Carolina bringing with him tales of love, betrayal, and redemption. At an age when his contemporaries are contemplating their golden years, he has decided to start all over again and, this time, get it right. His musical influences range from Mozart to Mitchell, Biff Rose to Steely Dan, Jobim to Jackson Browne, to the silence of a bedroom at dusk. He has worked with members of Catbird in the early Cradle days, performed an unlikely duet from Bernstein’s Mass with Don Dixon of Arrogance fame, picked a bit with Doc Watson, and played a thousand venues around the world.

Meet Charles Owens.

E-mail: charlesmowens@cs.com. Charles has been pickin’ & singin’ and writing tunes for a long time. He’s old enough to have been involved with the folk era and still loves some of that stuff. He currently plays in a rock n’ roll band (Night Cruise) with some great musicians. He’s also done some solo work. He loves many styles of music; however, his writing leans toward ballads with comtemporary folk flavor and some with a country flavor. Charles came to CCSA to get more involved with fellow musicians, performers, and songwriters.
